Samui Boat Lagoon Villas

About Koh Samui

Koh Samui, Thailand's third largest island, can easily be reached by a 1 hour direct flight from Bangkok (approximately 30 flights daily), and direct flights from Chiang Mai, Phuket, Singapore, Hong Kong, Pattaya, Krabi and Kuala Lumpur.

The first visitors to Koh Samui were back packers in the 1980's, attracted by the beautiful tranquil coconut beaches and the laidback atmosphere. Whilst some of the beach huts remain many have been replaced by luxurious private villas and 5 star hotels such as
Four Seasons, Sila Evason Hideaway and Santiburi Resort.

The island is easy to get around with the ring road more or less following the coast. It will take you just 1.5 hours to drive round. There are several places of interest such as the waterfalls and the elephant trekking nearby. The interior is very hilly which means you can experience the most dramatic scenery looking down on to the shimmering Gulf of Siam. The Big Buddha is probably the most famous landmark on Samui and after climbing the many stairs up to the statue you are rewarded by a spectacular view over the small harbour.

From the capital Nathon on the west coast you can catch the ferry to the mainland which takes around 1.5 hours or from the north part of the island several ferries can transport you to nearby Koh Phangan (famous for the full moon parties) and Koh Tao which is a paradise for diving, deep sea fishing and snorkelling. Day trips to Koh Tao and other islands can easily be arranged.
